<h2>The CADFEM Conference Rapperswil: AI beyond the trend</h2>
<p>This year, the conference brought together engineers, simulation experts, and R&#038;D professionals from many industries. Its program spanned structural mechanics, fluid dynamics, AI and simulation, automation with Python, and optics.</p>
<p>Notably, AI drew the biggest crowds. The sessions filled the large conference hall, and the breadth of the audience showed how relevant practical AI has become for engineering teams. As a result, conversations moved quickly from general curiosity to concrete use cases.</p>

<h2>STOCHOS Flow and Agentic AI for engineering</h2>
<p>One highlight came from Dr. Kevin Cremanns, who presented the latest developments in <a href="https://probaligence.com/stochos-flow/">STOCHOS Flow</a> and the role of Agentic AI in engineering. He showed how the platform lets engineers build domain-specific workflows and custom agents. In practice, these workflows connect engineering knowledge, simulation data, solver logic, probabilistic models, optimization, and reporting into transparent processes that teams can adapt, reuse, and share.</p>

<h2>STOCHOS in real engineering projects</h2>
<p>Beyond the talk at the CADFEM Conference Rapperswil, two projects with CADFEM put STOCHOS to work. One project, with VAT, linked real measurement data and CFD simulation results to predict flow more precisely. Another, with Jaeger-LeCoultre, applied <a href="https://probaligence.com/stochos/">STOCHOS</a> in the context of high-precision watch mechanics.</p>
<p>Together, these examples grounded the AI discussion in concrete results. Moreover, the strong interest in the sessions and the many conversations at our booth confirmed that engineering teams are ready to move from AI exploration to practical implementation.</p>

<h2>AI in engineering, beyond the buzz</h2>

<p>
The sessions moved past the AI hype and focused on what already changes engineering work: AI-enhanced structural, thermal, electromagnetic, and multiphysics simulation, predictive engineering, and smart digital applications. <p>
The audience matched that breadth, with attendees from electronics and semiconductor, aerospace and defence, automotive, and academia. In line with Singapore&#8217;s national AI initiatives, one theme ran through the day: real adoption happens when industry, academia, and technology partners work together.

<h2>Predictive engineering on the agenda</h2>

<p>
A highlight was the session on AI-powered predictive engineering with <a href="https://probaligence.com/stochos/">STOCHOS</a>, presented by CADFEM. The response confirmed a clear shift from traditional simulation toward predictive, data-driven engineering. Concrete use cases drew the strongest engagement: practical AI on specific engineering problems sparked more questions than any abstract AI topic.

<h2>After the CADFEM AI Conference Singapore</h2>

<p>
The conference also deepened the collaboration with CADFEM APAC and brought new perspectives from the Southeast Asian market back home. <a href="https://probaligence.com/stochos-flow/">STOCHOS Flow</a> drew particular interest as the workflow layer that puts these methods into daily engineering practice. Thanks to the CADFEM team for the organization and the hospitality. We look forward to building on this momentum across the region.

									<p data-start="2928" data-end="3217">Within the project, PI Probaligence GmbH developed the core AI technology for analyzing sensor-based data to enable early detection of critical pressure and stress patterns. The goal is to reduce the risk of amputations through more precise and continuous monitoring of high-risk patients.</p><p data-start="3219" data-end="3487">Beyond developing the AI models, PI Probaligence was responsible for the full system integration, including implementation within a smartwatch for mobile data acquisition, an iPad application for nursing staff, and the secure server infrastructure for data processing.</p><p data-start="3489" data-end="3766">Project partners included Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences, CID GmbH, and PI Probaligence GmbH. While the university and CID contributed clinical and medical technology expertise, PI Probaligence led the AI development, system integration, and technical architecture.</p><p data-start="3768" data-end="3963">The award highlights the potential of probabilistic AI methods in safety-critical medical applications and demonstrates how advanced AI technology can address real societal healthcare challenges.</p>								</div>

									<p data-start="211" data-end="364">GEMÜ is using the AI-driven capabilities of Stochos to make the verification process for metallic valve bodies more efficient and consistent.</p><p data-start="366" data-end="634">GEMÜ develops and manufactures a broad range of metallic valve bodies, each requiring strength verifications in accordance with the Pressure Equipment Directive. In the past, this involved a considerable amount of manual modeling and data preparation.</p><p data-start="636" data-end="906">With Stochos and in partnership with CADFEM, an automated workflow has been introduced that analyses CAD geometries, identifies relevant functional surfaces, and supports model setup and subsequent evaluation. These automated steps help increase process reliability and reduce repetitive manual tasks, resulting in</p><ul><li data-start="936" data-end="999">Reliable detection of pressure-loaded and functional surfaces</li><li data-start="1000" data-end="1043">Standardized and reproducible workflows</li><li data-start="1000" data-end="1043">Reduced manual modeling effort</li><li data-start="1079" data-end="1122"><p data-start="1081" data-end="1122">More time for complex engineering tasks</p></li></ul><p data-start="1124" data-end="1337">Stochos supports GEMÜ in implementing verification processes more efficiently and consistently. 									<p data-start="69" data-end="411">We participated in the <strong data-start="92" data-end="120">GDCh Coatings Conference</strong> – with a presentation and an information booth on the use of <strong data-start="182" data-end="254">AI in automated Design of Experiments (DoE) for coatings development</strong>. In addition, a research project on <em data-start="291" data-end="394">“Sustainable Coatings Industry through Digital Technologies for Climate and Environmental Protection”</em> was presented.</p><p data-start="413" data-end="662">Our talk highlighted how <strong data-start="438" data-end="508">Artificial Intelligence opens new pathways in coatings development</strong>. With raw material variability, stricter environmental regulations, and the urgent need for sustainable processes, innovative approaches are essential.</p><p data-start="664" data-end="726"><strong data-start="664" data-end="724">AI-based methodology for adaptive experimental planning:</strong></p><ul data-start="727" data-end="1112"><li data-start="727" data-end="851"><p data-start="729" data-end="851">Unlike classical, predefined experimental design, our approach enables <strong data-start="800" data-end="848">dynamic, data-driven steering of experiments</strong>.</p></li><li data-start="852" data-end="972"><p data-start="854" data-end="972">Parameters from raw materials, application, and processes are integrated into <strong data-start="932" data-end="969">probabilistic AI models (STOCHOS)</strong>.</p></li><li data-start="973" data-end="1112"><p data-start="975" data-end="1112">The AI proposes targeted, optimal experiment combinations, reduces the number of trials, and avoids inefficient or incompatible setups.</p></li></ul><p data-start="1114" data-end="1411"><strong data-start="1114" data-end="1131">The benefits:</strong><br data-start="1131" data-end="1134" />Significantly lower resource consumption and time investment<br data-start="1197" data-end="1200" />Facilitated transition to sustainable raw materials<br data-start="1254" data-end="1257" />Prototype validation on high-throughput and industrial-scale equipment<br data-start="1330" data-end="1333" />Presentation of our software solution for AI-driven experimental planning</p><p data-start="1413" data-end="1568">A special thank you to our project partners: <strong data-start="1458" data-end="1565">AOM-Systems GmbH, Mankiewicz Gebr. &amp; Co., Füll Lab Automation GmbH, HS Niederrhein, and Fraunhofer IFAM</strong>.</p>								</div>
